Cmybest Closes The 2009 Season

With a handy drive from Phil Hudon, Cmybest captured the final dash of the 2009 Canadian racing calendar, scoring on Thursday evening at Georgian Downs.

The four-year-old (five at midnight) daughter of Cammibest was hustled out from the outside post by Hudon early in the race. Despite blowing snow and less than ideal conditions, Cmybest managed to shake free from her position along the rail very late in the race.

Getting up in the last strides, Cmybest won in a time of 1:59.0 over Safety Zone and Emerald Tartufo. Owned by Kenneth Curran and trained by John Curran, Cmybest captured her fourth win of 2009 and eighth of her career.

The last at Georgian was the final race of the year as it crossed the wire a few minutes after the 12th race at Western Fair. That race was won by Pride and driver Doug McNair.
