An accident in the 13th and final race on Saturday marred the afternoon card of harness racing at Charlottetown Driving Park with drivers Ron Matheson and Marc Campbell unseated from their sulkies during the incident.

The accident occurred around the final turn involving two horses. Oakrock Almighty (Matheson) was racing in second along the pylons when the trailing Four Brass Starz (Campbell) appeared to collide with that horse knocking Matheson from his sulky. Four Brass Starz fell on top of Matheson while Oakrock Almighty ran loose before eventually being collared. Campbell was also unseated, but was up quickly on his feet to help with the fallen horse and driver.

Trot Insider has received confirmation that both drivers and horses escaped serious injuries.
