More Comments On Truro Quarantine

According to a report, live racing at Truro Raceway will be resuming as per regular on Sunday, December 21. Dr. Paul Hogan of the Maritimes Provinces Harness Racing Commission and Bob Taylor have also provided comments on the situation.

The news comes via an article on thechronicleherald.ca. The report states initial lab tests show two sick horses at the Truro Raceway do not have strangles, the highly contagious respiratory illness.

Dr. Hogan said that test results of swabs taken December 7 have come back negative for strangles. "But, per protocol, there will have to be two more sets of negative tests," Dr. Hogan was quoted as saying yesterday. "Hopefully, we’ll be able to have one of those tests done prior to Christmas and the other one the following week."

The affected barn at Truro is still under quarantine, but other horses are free to ship in and out.
