Flora Dream lit up the toteboard in Thursday’s $10,000 feature race at Sulky Trois Rivieres, and she did so despite being parked every step of the mile for trainer/driver Denis Gueriel.

It was the second consecutive win for Flora Dream, who is owned in partnership by Leo Tourigny of Becancour, QC and Lapharmaciekedgwick Inc. of Kedgwick, NB.

Gueriel sat seventh at the quarter pole before improving to be fifth at the half with the four-year-old daughter of Taurus Dream. She was still fifth at the three-quarter pole, but used a :31-second closing quarter to pull off the half-length decision in a time of 2:03.2.

Even money favourite SOS Starmania, who set most the tempo, was second best and Caprior Car rounded out the top three.

It was the fourth win in 24 starts on the season for Flora Dream, who has banked in excess of $152,000 in her career.

The Thursday evening program also saw the duo of trainer Isabelle Binet and driver Pascal Berube team up for a three-win performance.

They visited the winner’s circle with D Gs Elpresidente (2:00.1), Canaco Quitman (2:00.2) and Khayam I Am (2:00.4).
