Pippiwhitestockngs waited until the stretch before pulling up her socks and kicking into action to take the $13,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Trot on Saturday night at Georgian Downs.

With trainer Torgeir Hagmann in the driver’s seat, the Muscles Yankee miss sat in fourth as Apeachtoremember (Steve Byron) led the field past the first quarter in :28.1 and the half in :59.4. As the pacesetter began to pull away from the pack, Norway No Day (Scott Zeron) tipped out from third providing Pippiwhitestockngs with cover.

Apeachtoremember reached three-quarters in 1:28.4 as Norway No Day tucked into the pocket clearing the way for Pippiwhitestockngs to power home in :30.2 for the win in 2:00 by over a length.

Ziggy Wiggy (Kelly Sheppard) closed well for second forcing the pacesetter to settle for third.

Pippiwhitestockngs picked up her third win of the season for owners Kjell Magne Andersen of Oslo, Norway and Natan Schlachet of Sundbyberg, Sweden. The four-year-old trotter has won nine races in her career earning $239,085.
