After an early push from post 8 left her struggling late last week, Brenda and Corrie German’s Emmalulu ($7.10) bounced back to her winning ways in Wednesday evening’s (November 8) $9,000 featured trotting event at Flamboro Downs with a pillar-to-post score.

The four-year-old daughter of Amigo Hall, dispatched as a lukewarm 5-2 favourite in the field of seven, worked to an easy lead from her midpack starting spot and controlled a :58.3 first half while Inner Drive (Bob McClure) tracked from the pocket. Emmalulu faced a mild first-over challenge from Pollar Hall (Bruce Richardson) nearing three-quarters in 1:28.1, but responded in kind to prevail by three-quarters of a length. Inner Drive protected the runner-up position narrowly from the staying Pollar Hall.

Alfie Carroll drove Emmalulu to her tenth career win and her fourth of the current Flamboro meet.

Bob McClure led all drivers with three wins on the 10-race program, teaming up with odds-on favourites Exodus Seelster ($2.70, 1:59.1) and Hes Gone Badder ($3.60, 1:58), and also springing a mild upset with Miss Dragonfire ($17.00, 2:02).
