'Belvidere' Dead-Heats For Series Double

The Ford Summit Series for $6,000 claiming trotters continued on Saturday night with five more divisions worth $5,200 each, comprising the third leg.

Favourite Belvidere Hanover ($2.50) doubled up in series action, but had to share the spotlight with Cover Of Night ($6) after dead-heating for the 1:59.4 win in their division. Belvidere Hanover was driven by Paul MacKenzie for conditioner Kevin Tremblay while Joanne Dawson trainee Cover Of Night was reined by Anthony Haughan.

The other divisions were won by: Bonnie Ronnie ($19) and Dan Clements in 2:00.1 for trainer David Frey; Twin B Spike Man ($5.70) and Aaron Byron in 1:58.3 for Jeff Byron; Hi Tech Tony ($6.60) and Scott Coulter in 1:58.4 for Stephen Gassien; and Wild Wind ($6.80) and trainer-driver Carmen Auciello in 1:58.4.

The trotting series continues next Saturday, November 10.
