With a first-over grind, Sintra collected his second-straight victory in the $36,000 Preferred Handicap Pace with a 1:50.1 mile as the 4-5 favourite at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Nov. 28).

Real Willey protected position from the pylon post and powered to the front moving to a :27.2 opening quarter. HP Napoleon popped pocket and circled to the lead entering the backstretch while Sintra raced fourth and soon began to float off the pylons past a :55.1 half. Sintra rolled up to HP Napoleon’s side while the pace remained hot through three-quarters in 1:22.3 and swiftly downed his rival straightening for the finish. The Anthony Beaton trainee strolled clear to a three-and-three-quarter length victory as Wheels On Fire followed from second over for second and Points North took third.

A seven-year-old gelding by Mach Three, Sintra won his eighth race from 21 starts this season and his 32nd from 78 overall, earning $1,339,967. Jody Jamieson drove the $3.70 winner for owners Michael Guerriero, Kelly Waxman, Nunzio Vena and Frank Cirillo.
