Whata Donato stalked patiently from the pocket, then pounced in the Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at the Meadows.

Take The Money took the field through three-quarters in a sharp 1:25.4 over a 'sloppy' surface, but when trainer/driver Doug Snyder pointed Whata Donato to the Lightning Lane, the four-year-old daughter of Donato Hanover-Donven Promise poured through to score in 1:55.1 and down Take The Money by two lengths. ER Ellie finished third. Frank Poerio Jr. campaigns Whata Donato, who pushed her career bankroll to $156,641.

Tony Hall piloted four winners on the 15-race card.

Live racing at the Meadows resumes Monday, when the Pick 4 offers a $5,000 pool guarantee.
