Barn Fire Claims More Than 30 Horses

News of another fatal barn fire has hit the mainstream media. It has been reported that more than 30 horses lost their lives in the most recent occurrence.

As a report on gulflive.com explains, fire broke out at a barn in suburban Chicago over the weekend and claimed the lives of more than 30 horses.

The fire happened at Valley View Acres, located 50 miles northwest of Chicago, on Saturday night.

The article states that the facility was home to Thoroughbreds and show-jumping horses and also offers horseback riding lessons.

The report states that five of the 37 horses at the barn did not perish in the blaze, but numbers have not yet been made official.

Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Chief Paul Deraedt has been cited as saying that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but that an investigation is underway.
