The versatility of the Standardbred breed was showcased at the recent Standardbred Showcase awards banquet, which distributed honours to the top competitors in the 2017 show series for Standardbreds only.

It is encouraging to see harness horses who are placing and are competitive in “open” competitions, meaning the horses are not restricted to a certain breed.

Our congratulations to the winners at the banquet, which was generously sponsored by the Central Ontario Standardbred Association.

The following are the winners of the “Open awards” sponsored by the Standardbred Showcase. Show organizers believe those who step out and help the breed should be awarded for placing in “Open shows”.

Western Trail – Extreme Cowboy Champion – Tracy Coomber and Hugo

Showcase organizer Renee Sutton encouraged all those who show their standardbreds in “Open” shows to submit points for year-end awards.
