Woggy Rocks In Truro Feature

The wagering public sent them off as the 2-1 second choice on Sunday (November 19) at Truro Raceway, and, in return, pilot Paul Langille and Woggy Rocks made it worth the punters’ while, as the duo clicked in the $1,575 Winners Over pace and produced a tidy $7.10 win mutuel.

After having started from the outer Post 6 in Race 9, Woggy Rocks went straight to the front, cut all the fractions (:28, :58, 1:27) and held on for a half-length win in 1:58.3. The dash went postward over a ‘good’ track that was rated two seconds slow.

Woggy Rocks had held a seven-length lead at the head of the lane, but wound up winning by just a half length. Zingers Laugh (driven by Robert Laffin) closed hard, three-wide from the backfield, but ran out of real estate. Jackson K Down (Scott Hubbarb) finished third, almost seven lengths in arrears.

Woggy Rocks, who is a six-year-old gelded son of Rocknroll Hanover, is trained by Jonah Moase for owner Mikaela Wheaton of Cornwall, PE.
