Russian Kisses ($12.90) rallied off cover and tracked down the favoured front-runner Katherine B just past the third quarter mark to win Flamboro Downs' $7,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace on Wednesday night (November 16).

While 3-5 favourite Katherine B and Alfie Carroll led the field through panels of :27.3, :57 and 1:26.2, driver Robert Shepherd moved Russian Kisses second-over in front of the grandstand and then fanned three-wide on the way to the third quarter mark to reel in the leader. Russian Kisses cleared to command at the top of the stretch and won by one length in 1:55.3. Bundoran emerged from the pocket for J Harris to finish second ahead of Katherine B and the late-closing Pinky Tuscadero, driven by Mike Horner.

Shepherd owns the 25-time career winner while Isabelle Darveau handles the training duties. Russian Kisses earned her fourth victory of the season to go along with 10 other top-three finishes from 24 starts. The six-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover has banked $29,200 this year and $171,523 lifetime.
