Priceless Edition made seven rivals scream “Uncle” in Sunday’s featured $12,100 Preferred Pace at Rideau Carleton Raceway

.

With Gord Brown at the helm, Priceless Edition was allowed to settle just off the lead in the early stages of the mile before powering to the engine past the half and driving away to win by more than seven lengths in an eye-catching clocking of 1:53.1. Match Bayama was best of the rest and Gogogadgetgo snuck in to complete the Triactor ticket.

Sent off as the 3/5 favourite, the five-year-old son of Real Desire notched his fourth win of the 2009 campaign and the 25th of his career. Mark Steacy trains the photogenic pacer for owner/breeder Peter Heffering of Port Perry, ON. He has stashed away more than $382,000 in his career.

The 15-race program was dominated by a pair of reinsmen – John MacDonald and Guy Gagnon. MacDonald produced five wins over the course of the evening while Gagnon visited victory lane on four occasions.
