Ten Races, Ten Unique Winners

A rare occurrence took place on Tuesday (November 13) at The Raceway at Western Fair District as each of the 10 races featured different trainers and drivers in the winner's circle.

Owner-trainer-driver Dale Fritz kicked off the card with a five-length victory behind Dublin Seelster, who took the $6,400 conditioned pace in 2:02.1 ahead of the 1-5 favourite Silverhill Spike. Edward Acheson, B W P Stable and Michael Sawyer co-own the three-year-old gelding by Mach Three who returned $10.20 to win.

After the first, each race was won by a different trainer-driver combination. J Harris and Jeff Williamson won the second with Chik Maguire and then Garrett Rooney piloted Stonebridge Fancy to victory in race three for trainer Peter Brickman.

Scott Wray blew away the fourth-race pace with 1-5 favourite Miss Ohio, taking the Keith Cullen-trained filly wire to wire to win by five-and-three-quarter lengths. Travis Henry then won the fifth with an off-the-pace performance behind Scott McNiven trainee She Sports Style to win by a neck in 2:02.4.

Going a mile and a sixteenth, Natasha Day steered Patrick Bissett-trainee Rousey Ronda to a 2:07.2 victory at odds of 5-1. Nick Steward took the seventh race then closed to win the seventh behind Clifford Gowan pupil Bellas Oasis.

The front ruled the remainder of the card as Anthony Haughan drove the Meg Crone-trained mare Funny Three to a 2:01.4 victory in the eighth. Mike Horner pocket-popped in the ninth race with Pinky Tuscadero to nail the pacesetter late with the Mark Horner trainee and then Robert Shepherd wired the added-distance finale field with odds-on favourite April Bandit for trainer Colin Johnson.
