After having to share her last victory with Dreamfair Van Dam, Gotfaithincowboys managed to hold off that rival in another close finish in Northside Down's Winners Over Pace on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Gotfaithincowboys and Dreamfair Van Dam finished in a dead-heat for the win on September 17 prior to Blissfullsreaction's two-race streak in the $1,200 top class. But on Saturday, she was the 'leading lady' in the field of male pacers.
Gotfaithincowboys secured the lead from the inside post and carved out fractions of :29.1, :59.4 and 1:29.2 while keeping outsider Silverhilldiamond at bay. Down the stretch, she held off the pocket-pulling Dreamfair Van Dam by a head for her 21st career victory in 1:59.2, with Blissfullsreaction coming on for third.
Angus Bates drove the six-year-old daughter of Brandons Cowboy and Scented Candle for owner/trainer Angus Gillis of New Waterford, N.S. The homebred mare matched her 2015 win total with six victories from 20 starts this year.
