Spurofthehauer Repeats In Summit Series

Spurofthehauer was the only repeat winner in the Barrie Ford Summit Series for $6,000 claiming trotters, which continued on Saturday night at Georgian Downs with seven $5,000 second leg divisions

Seven-year-old mare Spurofthehauer and driver Anthony Haughan advanced first over from sixth to win their division in 1:58.1 for trainer Joe Agostino and owner Brad Gray of Dundas, Ont. Overlooked by the betting public in a field featuring two other first leg winners (Tijuana Tag and Raise E Daisy), Spurofthehauer paid $23.10 to win.

The other second leg winners included: Spirit Of Canada and Anthony MacDonald in 1:57; Love My Vett and Pat Shepherd in 2:00.1; Leonidas De Vie and MacDonald in 1:58.1; Emily Rose Hanover and Paul MacKenzie in 1:59.4; Hit The Mark and J.R. Plante in 1:57.4; and Armbro Edward and Simon Allard in 1:59.1.
