Iwontdothatagain Wins Again

Off a five-length 1:53.3 win in the $9,000 Open at Century Downs, Iwontdothatagain shipped to Northlands Park and won the $9,000 Open Pace by six-and-three-quarter lengths in 1:54.3 as the 1-2 favourite.

Royal Renegade set the pace, going fractions of :26.4 and :56 before losing the lead to Iwontdothatagain, brushing to the top before three-quarters, timed in 1:25.2. Two-lengths in front at three-quarters, Iwontdothatagain extended to a five-length lead into the stretch over Royal Renegade, battling off Sterling Cooper rallying uncovered. Iwontdothatagain was clear at the wire, with Sterling Cooper finishing second and Cool Cowboy passing Royal Renegade to take third.

Iwontdothatagain, a six-year-old gelding by Stonebridge Regal out of the D M Dilinger mare Island Nessie, won his 13th race in 22 starts this year and his 19th in 91 overall, earning $123,706. Owned by Ed Keryliuk and trainer-driver Kelly Hoerdt, he paid $3.10 to win.
