Racetrack Licensing Process Notice

Published: October 7, 2014 03:40 pm EDT

The Ontario Racing Commission has sent out a Notice to the Industry outlining the process that racetracks have to go through in order to apply for a 2015 racetrack license.

The notice states that the process is started by submitting an application for license to the ORC’s director. Pursuant to the Racing Commission Act, 2000, the director will make a licensing determination and may then issue a license with terms and conditions to the Racetrack Operator for the given year.

The notice goes on to state that each year the Racetrack Operator is required to submit and/or ensure that certain documents are on file with the ORC. A list of the material that must accompany the license application can be found here.

Racetrack license applications must be filed no later than October 31, 2014.
