Meadows Feature To Continual Velocity

Continual Velocity fired through the Lightning Lane to capture her 11th victory this year in Monday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Although she grabbed the early lead for Dave Palone, Continual Velocity yielded to Novascotia Hanover and was content to stalk from the pocket. With Do Me Honor looming large on the outside, Continual Velocity found the Lightning Lane just in time and triumphed in 1:53.4 over a sloppy surface. The game Do Me Honor was second, 1-1/4 lengths back, while Novascotia Hanover saved show.

Ron Burke trains Continual Velocity, a six-year-old daughter of Real Artist-Extreme Velocity who extended her career bankroll to $515,016, for Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Palone drove five winners — three for Burke — on the 15-race card.
