Meadows Open To Ladys Dude

Ladys Dude held off the late challenge of his stablemate, Perlucky, and scored in 1:52.1 — matching his career best — in Monday’s $16,200 Open Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Ladys Dude quarter-poled to the top for Tony Hall and was unthreatened until Perlucky made his bid. But the 9-year-old Victory Sam-Lady’s Star gelding was strong through the wire, downing Perlucky by a head. Pass The Vape rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains Ladys Dude, who now boasts 49 lifetime wins and a bankroll of $890,998, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Johnny Yoder.

Jim Pantaleano, Hall and Burke each enjoyed a three-bagger on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Tuesday when the 13-race program features a $90,691.64 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5 as well as a $1,443.36 carryover in the Pick 5 (race 8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
