Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park played host to the Maritime Breeders finals over a sloppy track hit by heavy rain on the program. The track crew did a great job on the city oval.

Wicked Nick, under the command of Gary Chappell, captured the $9,000 Maritime Breeders final for two-year-old pacers over Mary Leah (Danny MacDonald) for his second in a row and seventh score of the season for owners Peter Buchanan of North Wiltshire and Cameron Trail of O’Leary, PE.

Chappell enjoyed a big night at the track making three more trips to the winner’s circle with top place finishes aboard Pictonian Spartan, Sinners In Heaven and Abner The Great.

The three-year-old Maritime Breeders final, in honour of Buddy Campbell and sponsored by Meridian Farms, went to Oceanview Pancho and driver Corey MacPherson. The trotter, who now has six victories this season, is co-owned by Paul Larrabee of Belle River and William Roloson of Belfast, PE.

D GS Camme, with driver and co-owner Ron Matheson in the bike, over-powered pace setter Big Surf to win in 1:56.3. Ramblinglily (Ken Murphy) was third.

Sent off as the 6-5 favourite, D GS Camme is trained by Jackie Matheson for owners Quentin and Hal Bevan and Tom Clark of Charlottetown, PE.

Corey MacPherson, Marc Campbell notched driving doubles on the rainy night.
