Heavily favoured Kiss Of Terror, despite an assigned outside post position, dominated the Open I Pace at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Saturday (Oct. 16) in 1:50.1.

Driver Josh Sutton sent the nine-year-old son of Western Terror right to the top once the starting gate folded and never experienced an anxious moment while winning for the ninth-straight time, the last three in Open I company. In his 21st 2021 start, all in the Midwest, Kiss Of Terror won for the 13th time and upped his seasonal earnings to $125,675. Career wise, he has won 52 times in 144 tries good for $517,368 in bounty. Ameer Najor owns the winner and employs Paul Holzman to condition him.

With three additional divisional track records falling in the last three days, nine separate standards have been reduced in just the first 17 days of the current 70-day meet. Five pacing divisions have new record holders in Velocity Chaps (two-year-old colt, 1:52.2), Berries Berry (two-year-old gelding, 1:52), Oakwoodanabella IR (three-year-old filly, 1:49.3), Vel Mr Nice Guy (three-year-old gelding, 1:50.1) and Lyons Sentinel (four-year-old mare, 1:48.2).

On the trotting side of the ledger the four new record holders are Purple Aura (two-year-old filly, 1:56.2), Celebrate With Me (three-year-old filly, 1:53.4), Back Of The Neck (four-year-old stallion, 1:51.4) and Refined (aged mares, 1:52.4).

Hollywood Dayton races on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. (EDT) post time.
