During the evening of Sunday, January 10 at Rideau Carleton Raceway, Darrell Coville and Maxime Audet will square off in a 15-race driver challenge in support of the Christina Polifroni Scholarship Fund

.

Audet has never driven in more than six contests on one program. Coville, of course, has seen his name listed multiple times in each race on condition sheets at eastern Ontario and western Quebec tracks for many years.

Audet, who credits his father Michel and trainers Isabelle Darveau and Benoit Hebert for kick-starting his driving career, has said that he intends to employ a patient driving strategy.

"Obviously, Darrell is going to be hard to beat, but I am excited about the opportunity and I will give it my best shot," said Audet.

"In particular I am looking forward to driving Rewrite The Rules, Atoka Woodstock, and O U Legacy -- three very nice horses."

Coville, with the pressure squarely on his shoulders to win, feels that Audet is a formidable opponent.

"Max displayed patience, composure, and discipline in this summer's driver tournament. I am going to listen carefully to the trainers because I am driving some that I haven't sat behind before," Coville said.

"I consider it an honour and a privilege to help raise money for the scholarship fund. It is a great cause and a super way to remember Christina -- she was a fine young lady".
