Meaulnes du Corta Triumphs In Prix d'Amérique

Meaulnes du Corta took top honours on Sunday winning the 88th edition of the $1.3 million Prix d'Amérique Marionnaud at the Hippodrome de Vincennes in Paris, France

.

Trained by Pierre Levesque and driven by Franck Nivard, Meaulnes du Corta led for most of the 2,700 meters before pulling away down the stretch to secure the victory. The winning time was rated in 1:56.4.

Nouba du Saptel (Yves Dreux) was the runner-up with Qualita Bourbon (Jean Pierre Dubois) finishing in third. Defending champion Offshore Dream finished sixth in the 18-horse field for trainer-driver Pierre Levesque.
