TSM Photo Bugger Takes Preferred

Looking like a beaten horse around the final turn, TSM Photo Bugger found renewed life in the stretch to capture Wednesday’s $20,000 Preferred Handicap Trot, the 2013 opening-day feature at The Meadows.

Moving first over from fourth, TSM Photo Bugger duelled with the leader, Run And Tell Pap, but appeared spent as the pair turned for home. Under Mike Wilder’s urging, the six-year-old SJs Photo-Rewarding Wink gelding rallied again and downed Run And Tell Pap by one and a hald lengths in 1:56.3. The pocket-sitting Fox Valley Smarty was third.

Jan Fread trains TSM Photo Bugger, who now boasts $233,373 in career earnings, for owner/breeder Ted Tomson.

Brett Miller drove four winners on the 15-race card.
