Slots Bill Heard In Mid-February

According to a report on news25.us, House Bill 158, another push for Kentucky slots at racetracks filed by House Speaker Greg Stumbo, could be voted on in mid-February.

According to the report, unlike last year's gambling proposal, this year's effort for legalization of the lucrative machines wouldn't require amending the Kentucky state constitution.

Stumbo says that the plan could bring $700 million to Kentucky. The bill also calls for revenues to be spent on problem-gambling treatment, elementary education and drug-treatment programs.
