Dale and Ronnie Rennie’s Rustleinthevines captured Saturday afternoon’s $2,300 feature race in 2:00.3 at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre, and he did so at a juicy price.
In rein to Ken Murphy, Rustleinthevines enjoyed a pocket trip behind Tanks A lot, who threw down fractions of :29.3, 1:01.1 and 1:31. Murphy angled his charge up the rail in the lane en route to posting the neck decision over runner-up Yankee Sun and Pans O Silver, who finished third.
It was the 15th lifetime victory for the seven-year-old son of Rustler Hanover, who was sent off as a 9-1 outsider. He is quickly closing in on $75,000 in lifetime earnings.
Harness racing action is scheduled to return to the CDPEC next Saturday at 1 p.m.
