Rideau Hat Trick For Allard

It didn’t take very long for trainer Rene Allard to send out a message he’s going to be tough to dethrone as the king of the conditioners at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

After topping that track’s charts for wins (231) and earnings ($1,291,230) in 2012, the Quebec native kicked off the 2013 season with a three-win performance on Tuesday’s matinee program.

Allard clicked with Whatrugonnado (1:57.2), who cruised to victory by 17-1/4 lengths for driver John MacDonald, and before tacking on wins with First Notable Chip (2:00.1) and Noartographsplease (1:56.4) to complete the hat trick.

The 25-year-old, who was the nation’s leading percentage trainer (.465) in 2012, is coming off a career year. He sent out 453 winners and watched his stable bank $3,787,014.
