Moore To Host Yearling Selection Seminar

Published: October 6, 2008 12:00 pm EDT

Dr. Ian Moore is back home on Prince Edward Island after winning harness racing's crown jewel, The Little Brown Jug, in Delaware, Ohio.

The trainer and co-owner of Jug superstar Shadow Play will host a Yearling Selection Seminar Tuesday October 7, 2008 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the WI room at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre.

The seminar, in support of the Atlantic Breeders Crown weekend, will take place prior to the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale this Friday at the Charlottetown Civic Centre. Moore will once again present ideas and suggestions on pedigree and conformation to prospective buyers.

The equine Veterinarian will also cover the basics of choosing a trainer and evaluating yearling conformation.

Moore is no stranger to picking out winners at the Maritime yearling sales. Moore scooped Astronomical, a winner of over $700,000 for $10,000 in Charlottetown. His success with Shadow Play has once again put him in hot demand on the seminar circuit.

This successful project is a good example of what is the subject of the seminar, the hand in hand approach of pedigree and conformation in yearling selection coupled with a responsible training schedule.
